Teamwork is the foundation for a strong nose work team. Your dog’s role
is to use his nose and consider your input while exercising ultimate
veto power. Your role is to read your dog's behavior changes and respond
with subtle communication that supports your dog without distracting
her. Building a confident independent search dog and honing your
handling skills can help build a dynamic search duo!

This workshop will include lecture, discussion, and exercises to help
handlers hone their handling skills both on and off leash while
supporting their dog's ability to work independently. Exercises will
focus on: building the dog’s confidence to take the lead; developing the
dog’s ability to accept and assess handler suggestions without losing
focus on the search; leash handling skills; covering a search area off
leash; and, of course, having fun with your amazing canine partner!
